What is the FFFHD fanzine about?
The FFFHD fanzine is a League of Villains appreciation fanzine that seeks to portray the familial bonds that were crafted between the members of the league.
How will contributors be compensated?
Contributors will receive a free digital and physical copy of the zine. Contributors under the age of 18 will not be receiving any Mature products. As the interest check showed a preference towards profit rather than charity, the contributors will also receive an equal share of the monetary gains.
Where will the rest of the proceeds go?
If the zine exceeds expectations in terms of sales, after covering for production and shipping costs, we plan on donating a percentage of the funds to the charity that received the most votes during the interest check.
What are artists required to do?
If you are applying to be an artist, you must send a portfolio of your works with your application. Your portfolio does not need to contain BNHA content exclusively as long as it shows off your work, but at least one of your example pieces is highly encouraged to be BNHA or LOV centered. If you are applying for the Mature booklet, please be aware that explicit smut pieces are not accepted for the submission. The theme of the booklet remains Found Family, therefore pieces depicting elements such as injury recovery, gore, domestic violence, etc. are accepted, but not explicit smut scenes.
What are writers required to do?
If you are applying to be a writer, you must send a link to at least three works, each no longer than 3,000 words, with your application. At least one of your examples should be a BNHA piece, preferably centered around the LOV, so we may see how you portray the characters. If you are applying for the Mature portion, please include works that can show your skill in NSFW-rated content (M/E rated fics on AO3). The theme of the booklet remains Found Family, therefore pieces depicting elements such as injury recovery, gore, domestic violence, etc. are accepted, but not explicit smut scenes.
Is traditional art allowed?
Yes. Please make sure to provide a clean, high quality scan of your work. Scanning in 600dpi or higher is advisable.
How old do I have to be to apply? Is there an age restriction?
As the main focus of this zine is the SFW portion, anyone over the age of 14 may apply for that half. However, you MUST be 18 or older during the time of your application if you wish to apply for the Mature booklet. Contributors who are under 18 will not have any access to the NSFW channels in the Discord server.
Can I apply for both the NSFW and SFW books? Can I be accepted for both?
Yes! You may apply for both if you’d like as long as you’re 18 or older. However, we are planning to accept different contributors for each part of the project, therefore you will be asked for your preference and if you are accepted, will be assigned to either the SFW zine or Mature booklet.
How many contributors are you accepting?
For the SFW book we plan to have roughly 20-25 page artists and 15 writers that will be able to choose their preference out of there word count categories: 500-1000 words, 1500 words and 2500-3000 words. Ideally, for the Mature booklet, we aim to have 10-15 artists and 5 writers. However, the numbers will be highly dependent on the number of applications.
What is the Mature booklet?
The main focus of the zine will be a physical, A4 printed book of SFW content for anyone to purchase. However, as the interest check showed us that people may be interested in a Mature booklet as well, we will also be working on developing an A5 booklet where contributors will have the freedom to develop more mature themes tied to the League of Villains. The rating of these pieces would not be higher than the R rating in movie industry, however purchase will be restricted to buyers that are above 18 years old.
Can I include other characters in my piece?
Any characters are welcome as long as your submission managed to tie them with the League of Villains in a familial capacity, thus meeting the theme of Found Family for the LOV.
What AUs are allowed/not allowed?
In regards to this particular zine, we will allow certain AUs (canon divergent, time skips, characters getting de-powered or de-aged, etc.) and you will not need to discuss the idea with the mods. Moreover, we have decided, that we will accept the idea of a more AU concept such as SF, Fantasy, Historical, etc. as long as the contributors are willing to discuss their ideas with us so that we could make sure it would work with the given theme and in the allocated time.
Are contributors allowed to collaborate? Can a writer collaborate with another writer or artist?
We welcome all sort of collaboration between our contributors! Do note, collaborations can only be established among contributors after they’ve been accepted into the zine and joined the Discord. Collaborations with people that have not been accepted to the zine are not allowed. More details on collaborations will be available in the Discord server.
I have a specific headcanon I’d like to portray, is that alright?
Any headcanons you may have are fine and welcome! If you are uncertain if your idea is allowed, feel free to ask the mods about it or add it into your claims proposals.
